Cemetery Records Update & New Website
-
The records for our cemetery have been kept in a large book and on a paper map since it started in the early 1950's. Those records are hard to read and are fading with time. We are in the process of having the cemetery records digitized and stored electronically going forward. With that, a cemetery website is being created, and it will make it possible to look up where people are buried and give directions to them.
Why do we have cemeteries? A cemetery is a designated area for the burial and memorialization of deceased individuals. Its primary function is to serve as a final resting place for human remains, while also providing a space for the living to remember and honor their loved ones. If you are considering plans for your final resting place, please contact Tom Offerdahl in the parish office. There are options for traditional "full" burials, cremation burials, and inurnment of cremated remains in a niche in one of our above ground columbaria.
