“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me”.
Matthew 25.40 It is by our baptism in Jesus Christ that we are called to serve God and one another. As Christians we are the hands and feet of Christ and we have a solemn responsibility to love and care for one another. This includes not only our families and friends, but the stranger and the poor in our community and our world. Our parish provides several opportunities for parishioners to serve in what we know as Outreach Ministries which include: BeFrienders/Companions, Food Shelf Ministry, Prayer Line, Prayer Shawl and Blanket Ministry, Faith Community Nursing and Health and Wellness Committee, Hospital and Nursing Home Visits, Communion to the Homebound, Church of the Week Participation, Table to Table We will, as we move forward, be uniting our efforts for outreach with the St. Stephen, Annunciation and Sacred Heart parishes in an effort to share resources, get to know and work along side our friends in faith and to help all to feel a part of the One in Christ Area Catholic Community. This might include shared meetings for leaders or contact persons in the differing areas or it might mean simply supporting one another in prayer as each parish continues their outreach ministries. When training for new members of any of these ministries is needed, we may be able to provide that in one gathering rather than having to repeat the training for individual parishes. This a way we can work together and yet continue to serve as each parish has been doing. If you are interested in any of the above listed ministries, please call those listed below for further contact
St. Stephen Parish - Carol Hellman at 251-1520
St. Francis Xavier Parish - Deb Rudolph at 252-1363
Annunciation Parish - Cindy Gans at 252-1729
Sacred Heart Parish - Deacon Joe Kresky at 251-8115 Let us together pray for the Holy Spirit to be with us as we continue to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community and beyond. May we be blessed by the grace of God as we share our gifts of time and talent in service to one another remembering that as we do for others, we do for Christ. In hope of unity,
He Would Love First!
