To the newest members of the Catholic Church, St. Francis Xavier Parish and the One in Christ Area Catholic Community: Congratulations and Welcome!!!! This past Thursday, June 4, after months of uncertainty we were able to gather the RCIA catechumens and candidates to celebrate Mass with Fr. Tim and confer upon them the Easter Sacraments. They were joined by their loved ones, sponsors, invited guests along with Mark Levandowski who provided music and me who served as lector, Eucharistic Minister and teacher.
It was a beautiful celebration - long awaited - that brought them to the pinnacle of their RCIA journey. We are filled with joy at their entering the Church, receiving the sacraments and becoming official members of our community. We are saddened that we could not gather as a community to honor them with the reception we had planned for the Easter Vigil. Our parish did send them each home with a cake to celebrate with their families in the safety of their homes. Please remember them in prayer, thanking God for being present in their lives. To be sure, they are a sign of hope to all of us as members of the Body of Christ. We pray they will now enjoy a meaningful relationship with Jesus and share with us the promise of eternal life with God.
So, here they are!
Nicole Cheney and Dillon Kleinow received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. They are now fully initiated into the Catholic Church. We welcome them with joy!
Robert Fann and Carrie Gramke received the sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist thereby completing their full initiation that began at their Baptism. May they now know the blessing of being one with Christ’s Church!
For me it has been both a pleasure and a privilege to accompany these four on their personal faith journeys, journeys that will last a lifetime. To share the Word, Sacraments, Tradition and Teaching of the Catholic Church is an awesome blessing in my life! I want to thank all members of St. Francis Xavier for supporting these four with your prayers and modeling for them a lived faith in Jesus Christ. Let us all walk forward in faith together!
