“How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good He has done for me?”
I think there are many times in our blessed lives when we ask ourselves that question. On the surface it seems like a simple question but if we ponder it for a moment or two, we may come to realize how inadequate our efforts are to thank Him. When we think that Jesus gave his most holy Body and Blood for us; for you, and for me, and for all of creation, how could we ever even
begin to make a return to the Lord?
Psalm 111 has the simple answer: “I will thank the Lord with all my heart!” And also in our Responsorial psalm this weekend: “To you will I offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving and I will call upon the name of the Lord!” Oh yes, we can and should and need to be generous to His Church on earth for through it His will is done. But what I think He really wants is for us to appreciate all the good he has done for us. How we show that appreciation and give thanks is up to us. We are all unique and have different gifts and gift giving is a timehonored method of making a return.
So use your imagination in giving back……..use your time, your talent, and your treasure. He gave us bread from heaven. We have eaten the bread of angels! Enjoy the nicer weather and remember to give thanks for that too!
He Would Love First!
