This Sunday we welcomed new members to our faith community in hope that they will find a home here at St. Francis Xavier that will assist in their growing closer to Jesus Christ. Not all new members are able to attend our Welcome Sunday to meet a parish host for the morning and share refreshments with them following the Mass. To all new members, we want you to know how happy we are to have you as a part of our parish family. For those who were with us today, the time you spent with parishioners is a new beginning for both you and them. In meeting and conversing you have begun a relationship that we hope will continue to grow. Know that we are here to support you in your faith journey and we look forward to you coming forth to share your God-given gifts with your new parish.
As Christians we all have a responsibility to welcome the stranger, to reach out to others and share with them the Good News of the Risen Jesus Christ. We accepted that responsibility at our baptism and we spend our entire life living into what baptism calls us to do. Is there anyone in your world that you might invite to join us? Perhaps a new neighbor who has yet to discover St. Francis Xavier, perhaps a family member who has not been with us for a long time. Anyone of us may be presented with the opportunity to invite another and what a gift that will be, for them, for you and for our faith community as we continue to grow in love and faith.
He Would Love First!
