Joy to the World!
And our world could certainly use a good dose of joy!
Merry Christmas to all members of St. Francis Xavier, your friends, extended family and visitors to our faith community! May you find in this season of love great joy in the presence of one another and in the realization that God is indeed with us. Jesus is the living Son of God and we are the blessed recipients of God’s incredible unconditional love and mercy. For this we must celebrate! Today we celebrate the birth of an infant whose life and
presence among us changed the world. God so wanted us to be reconciled to him that he sent his own flesh and blood to bring new life and light to this world. All of the beauty of this season; the wondrous story, the beautiful hymns, the spirit of giving and sharing that we experience is all part of God’s divine plan to secure for us eternal life with Him. In the birth of a new born babe, God revealed himself fully.
Remember that as a Catholic Church we celebrate the season of Christmas from the Eve of the Nativity to the
Baptism of the Lord on January 9th. So celebrate, give thanks, gift your loved ones, feast at your table and as we return to Ordinary Time then let us consider how we might participate as . . .
The Work of Christmas Begins
of the angels
is stilled, when
the star in the sky
is gone, when the kings
and princes are home, when
the shepherds are back with the
flocks, then the work of Christmas
begins: to find the lost, to heal those
broken in spirit, to feed the hungry, to
release the oppressed, to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among all peoples, to make a little
music with the heart… And to radiate the Light of
Christ, every day, in every
way, in all that we do and in all that we say.
Then the work of Christmas begins.
