Today we celebrate the birth of the Church in the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles as they sat huddled in a room, confused and waiting for the Advocate Jesus promised the Father would send. This promise would assure them of his presence, giving them strength, and courage to be witnesses to Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. And upon receiving the Holy Spirit the disciples were able to speak in a way that people of all nations and languages could understand. This is Pentecost! This celebration of the coming of the Holy Spirit marks the end of the Easter’s Liturgical Season but we as a parish continue to celebrate as we welcome Fr. Bob Rolfes, Vicar General of the Diocese of St. Cloud, who will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation upon 85 young teens from both our parish and the parish of St. Stephen. In addition to that, we as a parish will welcome a new family who desire full communion in the Catholic Church. This day at the 8:30 am Mass Fr. Tim will welcome to the church through the Sacraments of Confirmation and the Eucharist: Timothy Tadych Kristine Wainright-Tadych Madison Tadych Olivia Tadych.
Welcome to the Catholic Church!
Welcome to St. Francis Xavier!
Let this day be filled with joy as we acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit, with us always, and let us pray that all being confirmed will be blessed with an awareness of the Holy Spirit, alive in them in a new way today. And for all members of the Church, let us open our hearts and be filled with gratitude for the gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives; the promise that we are not alone and that Jesus is with us until the end of time.
With Joy in the Holy Spirit,
He Would Love First!
