New school year that it is. This Tuesday our own St. Francis Xavier Catholic School will open its doors to welcome 249!! students in PreK-6th grades. I can hardly wait to see their smiling faces. Let us remember in prayer our students and the students around the world that will return to their classrooms in the coming weeks. Prayers for success also go out to those who are beginning their post-high school careers in new and exciting places. And of course for the Moms and Dads and the brothers and sisters who are adjusting to daily life with one less teen in the house.
Let us pray: Creator God, we thank you and we praise you for the gift of our body, mind and soul. As our children return to their classrooms;
Bless them with courage as they grow, becoming all you intended they be.
Gift them with your grace that they might grow in knowledge of you and your world.
Teach them compassion and love for all your people.
Bless all educators and school staff as they nurture each student with kindness, patience and love.
Give them the strength they need to accomplish the tasks before them.
Reveal to them the gift of your unique creation in each and every student.
Bless your children and their teachers with joy and draw them closer to you each day. We ask this in the name of Jesus.
Of course this also means that we have reached the time when formal meetings and gatherings of all kinds of ministries begin again. We are richly blessed by so many who share their time and talent to support and care for one another here in our parish.
