How to Draw Your Child Back to the Church

July & August

Book Discussion on Return: How to Draw Your Child Back to the Church One of the most common concerns shared with pastors and others in ministry revolves around a question worded something like this:
“My children / grandchildren don’t go to church anymore. What can I do?” Brandon Vogt’s book, Return: How to Draw Your Child Back to the Church, does not answer that question. I appreciate that, because as the author notes humbly, there is no single or simple answer. What the book does, however, is provide some strategies to pray, to engage in respectful and sincere listening, and to invite. If this question is on your heart, or if you want to learn more about supporting others in the journey of faith, you are invited to join in a book discussion on Return. The study will run five weeks and offers two time-slots:
Mondays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart from July 19 to August 16
Thursdays from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Annunciation from July 22 to August 19
You may attend either session depending on your schedule for each week. The book is 225 pages, and available on Kindle for around $7.00; used copies are around $25; new copies have risen to $50.
Participants can share a book if they wish. While we will recap key points from the chapters read each week, the time will largely involve conversation and sharing. It is
intended both for learning and mutual support in our common work of evangelization. All from our ACC are welcome, and beyond. To assist with preparation, please contact Cindy at Annunciation (252-1729) or Jill at Sacred Heart (251-8115) to register. There is no cost other than the book itself. If you need us to provide a copy, let us know and we will do our best to find used copies for you.
