FESTIVAL UPDATE

8.26.23
Things keep moving on . . A walk-thru of the site by Killer Vees took place this past week. Banners like the one you see are being made. I’m looking for parishioners outside of the Sartell City limits that could put one of these on their busy road to advertise for the festival. Please call or email Tom. ALSO, I am looking for somebody to manage the “green room” for the entertainers on the afternoon/evening of the festival. It would involve some shopping for the snacks they like and prepping the place where they will wait prior to performing. Again, get in touch, tofferdahl@stfrancissartell.org or 320-252-1363, Ext. 405. Continue to pray for a safe and successful festival!
8.6.23
Celebrating 75 Years! Our festival is Saturday, September 16th and Sunday, September 17th. The Franny Flyer is in the morning. Mass is at 4:00pm as usual and most of the activity takes place on Saturday night – that is when the help will be needed. Anderson Daniels takes the stage at 5:00pm and then the Killer Vees – Killer Country Show starts at 7:00pm. Bring your camp chair! Still looking for someone to run the food stand – it involves some set up and grilling burger, brats and hot dogs for a few hours on Saturday night. Please contact me if you have any questions or with your offer to lead the way – tofferdahl@stfrancissartell.org – 320-252-1363, ext 405

The festival packets are available for pick-up. They include the information, raffle chances and lots of other opportunities to give to the festival – from BINGO prizes to baked goods to certificates for Youth Teen nights. It also has a place to sign up for helping – your name, number and email will be helpful there!

We are still accepting Silent Auction donations – hand made crafts (embroidered dish towels, afghans, quilts, wood working projects & more), kitchen appliances, cordless tools, teen gifts, student/dorm furnishings, gift cards to local businesses, and more – contact Candice at 320-654-1350 or Pam Banjac at 320-309-4735 with any questions. Thank you for your generosity. Keep the prayers coming for good weather and a safe and successful parish festival.

7.30.23
The raffle packets with tickets and information are ready to be picked up in the gathering place. Grab your neighbors or your friends or a family member if you see it there and hand deliver it. We need help getting these distributed. Support of our festival is needed and appreciated. Thanks to those who gathered on Sunday night (July 23rd.) We are moving forward with getting marketing materials developed and ready for publication. There are still a few leadership areas that need to be filled, and we’ll need many people between set-up, operations Saturday night, and take down – please answer the call. to help when it comes.

The silent auction has nearly 50 items and the donations have been wonderful. Please continue to bring in baskets and items that can be on the silent auction. Hand-crafted goods make great gifts, so auction-goers like those. Gift cards to local businesses go well & also support our community. Think of fun things for all ages. Those items work well for the silent auction. Again – call Candice at 320-654-1350 or Pam at 320-309-4735 with any questions.

Please join me this Sunday night (July 23rd) at 7:00pm in the Gathering Place to review where things are and to make plans for our 75th anniversary festival that will be taking place September 16th and 17th. Help is needed to take some small pieces and by bringing many together, details can be worked out to make this a fun and successful event. And, the call is out for many helpers on Wednesday, July 26th at 9:00am. Again, we’re meeting in the gathering place to stuff our festival packets. It works best to be in teams of 2, so invite a friend. This is a good project for teenagers and up – especially those looking for service hours for confirmation or National Honor Society. It will take a couple hours, but it will go by quickly. Refreshments will be served! Questions on either of the above items – contact Tom Offerdahl at 320-252-1363, ext. 405 or email tofferdahl@stfrancissartell.org .
2023 FRANTOBER FEST SILENT AUCTION
We’ve already received some nice donations – thank you! Embroidered dish towels, gift baskets, a big electric griddle, several children’s toys, a gift card to Manea’s Meats, small home appliances, a king-sized sheet set, and other items have already been dropped off. What makes a good donation? Many things – think of birthdays, anniversaries, and other gifts. If an item would be a good gift for something like that, then it would probably be a good silent auction item. Call Chair people Candice Koopmeiners at 320-654-1350 or Pam Banjac 320- 309-4735 if you have any questions.

Stuffing the festival packet with raffle chances and other information is soon here. That should happen in the next couple of weeks and many hands will make light work. Please watch for the invite to report for duty! It is time for a recap meeting . . . and I’m calling for help to join me in leadership and planning. Please plan on attending Sunday evening, July 23rd at 7:00pm in the gathering place. There are many things that need input, and I’m reaching out to you for help. There are many on board already to take care of various areas/booth/attractions – thank you! But, more help is needed – Including some general leadership help. We’re a little over 2 months out and there are tasks to do including marketing and some general planning/prep. Please join me. Question, comments, and offers to help – email tofferdahl@stfrancissartell.org or call 320-252-1363, ext.405. Thank you!

2023 FRANTOBER FEST SILENT AUCTION
Items are being accepted for the 2023 Frantober Fest Silent Auction. Hand-crafted items – wood projects (shelves, plant stands, benches, stools & more), afghans, embroidered towels, and quilts go very well. We look for new products that people could use. Items in the past have included cookware, appliances (think insta-pots, crockpots, air fryers, etc.), cordless tools, stoneware, and other such items. Gift cards to local businesses are great for the silent auction – they are things people can use and it also supports the local businesses (restaurants, hair stylists, coffee shops, etc.) If you’re good at putting together baskets – those work well too – examples include wine baskets, children’s or baby baskets, and relaxation baskets. If you have connections to hotels or get-aways – those could be a great draw for bidding. If you have questions or want more information, please contact Candice Koopmeiners at 320-654-1350 or Pam Banjac at 320-309-4735.

The raffle ticket is close to getting finalized to go to the printer. The goal is to get it there late next week or the week of the 4th of July. We are still accepting donations for prizes and are nearing $10,000.00 in value for the ticket. Will you help put us over the top for that? Please contact the parish office (320-252-1363) or email tofferdahl@ stfrancissartell.org if you are up for making a donation. I’m still looking for help with some general chairing of this event as well or people who will help manage pieces of the event. Please email or call me with your offer to help. Thank you. Tom
