Physical Education Philosophy

The real joy in life is in its play. Play is anything we do for the joy and love of doing it. It is the business of childhood. Play develops a child's physical, social and emotional development.

Research shows that a half hour of daily Physical Education class helps children to function at a higher level intellectually. The heart pumps fresh oxygen to the blood to nourish and stimulate the brain.

Twice as many children today and almost three times as many teens are overweight as compared to 20 years ago. We hear on the news almost weekly how important diet AND exercise is for controlling obesity. Getting our kids active is extremely important. Physical Education class is purposeful exercise designed to get kids moving and having fun.

The benefits of Physical Education class include the following:

            Increased fitness levels

            Positive self-esteem

            Development of social skills

            Improved motor skills

Increase in muscular endurance and flexibility

Physically fit kids perform better academically

MOST IMPORTANTLY IT IS THE WORK OF CHILDREN TO HAVE FUN!
