Dear Prospective Family:
Since becoming pastor of St. Francis Xavier parish, I continue to be thoroughly impressed with St. Francis Xavier Catholic School. During my visits at the school, I am constantly reminded of the priceless gift of Catholic education. I see the spirit of Jesus truly alive and at work in our young people, from the preschool and kindergarten children just beginning their educational journey to our mature sixth grade students preparing to move onto further study.
St. Francis Xavier School does an outstanding job educating young people academically, spiritually, socially, morally and physically. The rich and vibrant tradition of Catholic education is so evident in our students, devoted teachers and staff, dedicated and involved parents and proud alumni.
One of my priorities as pastor is to strengthen Catholic education and faith formation programs for our young people. At St. Francis Xavier School, our teachers are committed to our school’s Catholic identity. Every school day begins and ends with prayer, classes in religion are taught by competent teachers who are faithful to church teaching and weekly Mass and special liturgies are celebrated with all students.
I have heard from many parents that raising children is today’s complex world is a very demanding and challenging duty. There are high expectations and pressures placed upon our children. Movies, music, television, video games and the internet can have negative influences on our young people. St. Francis Xavier School develops the whole child and prepares students to make the right moral choices, now and in the future. Our faculty and staff members are partners in your child’s education. The same values you are teaching your children at home are reinforced at St. Francis Xavier School each and every day. When you send your child to our school, your family becomes part of a special and sacred community. As members of the St. Francis Xavier School community, your family will be enriched. Like your children, you will have the opportunity to grow in your life of faith.
Thank you for your interest in St. Francis Xavier School! I ask and hope that you seriously consider a St. Francis Xavier School education for your child. After visiting our school and spending time with our teachers, staff, students and parents, I think you’ll notice something very special, something different – something you will believe is best for your child.
Your family will be in my prayers as you make this important decision for your child.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Lauren Germann
